Cast and Crew
The Golfer:: My loving husband of some 20 years (yes, I was a child bride!), who likes nothing better than flogging a little white ball around the green fairways (and hopefully not getting into the rough) of his local golf course.
Ma & Pa Kettles:: My parents who live in the country, fondly known as The Kettles. Sadly my gorgeous Dad died in 2015, so it’s just Mum now.
MyDearFIL & MIL:: The Golfer’s Dad & Mum who have now both passed away.
LittleBigBrother:: My brother who is younger than me, but at 6 foot, definitely bigger than me!!
DocSisterInLaw:: LittleBigBrother’s wife (who has a Doctorate!)
Poppet:: My beautiful niece, and daughter of LittleBigBrother and DocSisterInLaw
Bliss
(blis) n. 1. perfect happiness; serene joy

Saturday sewing
Last Saturday we had an impromptu sewing day as our friend Lynnie was in Melbourne, down from northern Victoria. It felt very strange having visitors to our home – we haven’t been together for such a long time. I slightly … Continue reading
Conversations with CW
Hi Lovelies! You’ll be pleased to hear that my idea with the paper shapes worked and thankfully nobody sneezed while I transferred paper pieces to fabric pieces. And, best of all, it all fits together. Thank goodness! I’ve since been … Continue reading
Conversations with CW
You know how I was having that internal argument between brain and heart? And I listened to my heart? Shoulda listened to my head! All the while I was stitching, my head, and CW, kept repeating, “it won’t wOoork. it … Continue reading
Conversations with CW
I’m continuing to have conversations with CW. When I last reported in to you I was adding in more stars and houses. That job done I then had gaps that needed filling I figured I’d stick with the fabrics from … Continue reading

Do your quilts ever “talk” to you while you’re creating/making? Mine do, and sometimes I feel my Nanna (Mum’s Mum) sitting on my shoulder directing my fabric choices and planning. Nanna would have loved to see what I do, and … Continue reading
Dragonfly dancing
With footy season back in full swing in a crammed in, jammed in schedule and golf tournaments being played in the northern hemisphere and televised here, I’ve left The Golfer to watch these delights(!) in the family room and ensconced … Continue reading
Sewing
At the end of May I did start a new project (surprise, surprise!). I justify it by saying I’m testing a new set of templates (my story and I’m sticking to it!). Using the echinacea from Anna Maria Horner’s latest … Continue reading
Virtual class
I did something a little different for my sewing in virtual class this week; instead of making more blocks on the sewing machine with Billy Bernina, I bound the other quilt that I picked up from Sewn and Quilted last … Continue reading
Rocks and whetstones
How are you all? How’s your week been going? We had a cold, wet weekend, more a taste of Winter than the last month of Autumn and this weekend looks to be much the same. Luckily it was mild and … Continue reading
