Saw my friend Miss Glenda on the weekend, and she regaled me with a tale.
Miss G’s husband, like mine, plays golf, so it wouldn’t count as a strange thing to see Miss G in a well known golf store purchasing golf tees….or so one would think. (For those unfamiliar, these are golf tees, which are put into the ground by the pointy end and then the ball is put on the top before “tee-ing off”, or hitting the ball.)
Miss G, however, had another idea in mind, but had a query regarding the size, as indicated on the packets. The lovely young man endeavoured to explain, thinking he was talking to a golfer, or at least a golfer’s wife there on a mission. Miss G stopped the young man before he’d launched too far into his talk suggesting that the young man would have a fit if he knew what she really wanted them for! The confused and bewildered young man only became more so when Miss G said she’d take both packets (one packet of each size!), and bring back the one she didn’t need!
So what did Miss G have in mind? Well I’m the lucky recipient of one of her new creations.
You can see that it’s a pin cushion, but where, you may ask, does the golf tee come into it?
…..fits neatly into the top of a reel of thread!
Isn’t that cute?! And it came with….
Just love it! Thank you Miss Glenda.
And unless Miss G makes hundreds of them immediately, Mr G knows where to go for spare golf tees for a while!!
Happy stitching
