320create weekend – part 3

It’s always the first thing thought about and the first thing packed for me – sewing!

Kaye had loads of fabulous show and tell;

her Japanese inspired placemats

one of her own designs

another Japanese inspired one, this time a square in a square with Kaye’s trademark circles

and this pyramid one

Andrea brought along her mini quilt which won a prize at her guild (Bay Quilters). It’s based on her many-great grandfather’s voyage to Australia

yes, those sails are 3D and hand painted!

Helen’s Hoshi Stars match the cushion on this chair!

I tested a layout for my QAL2022 but I need headspace to put it together so it needs to wait a bit

Helen did a layout for her Carpenter’s Wheel blocks

Andrea put up her Tilda Squares quilt and we decided it needed sashing and cornerstones around the outside too

the Easter Bunny visited us very early (thanks Kaye!)

I put up a few of my Double Wedding Ring pieces, just to see how it’s looking – quite pleased with it.

and I played around with diamonds and llama fabric

Kaye, our beautifully neat and precise Kaye, was chain piecing blocks

Both Andrea and Maree started making “Dancing Dollies

Maree has started hand quilting her “Snowflakes” quilt

Lynnie whipped up this cutie for one of her grandsons

Helen played around with piece placements for her “Chapel Street

Andrea finished her “Vintage Comfort

I stitched up arcs and melons….

…..until my tin was empty (I’ve started cutting out more since being home)

Andrea started hand piecing a variety of blocks from my “Back to Basics – 4G” template set and playing with layouts

so there was lots of work done amidst the food, drink, chat and laughter (and dare I say, dancing to “Eagle Rock“!!)

And speaking of food……..more tomorrow!

My goodness, amazing achievements by all! So many creative juices flowing there. Love your DWR!! πŸ€—

  2. Oh my! I always take more projects than I can work on during a retreat, but it looks like you have hit every one of yours. Fantastic. I love them all. Your QAL2022 is coming together nicely. That basket block in the lower left is one of my favorite patterns. I made a quilt using that pattern when I was 15 and I have loved it ever since. So nice to see it going into your sew-a-long quilt! Enjoy the day!
