Class show and tell

Val has the next round on her “Mrs Billings Coverlet” and we chose the next border from these three fabrics (keep you guessing until next month!)

That decided, Val’s niece is getting married and has asked for a Double Wedding Ring quilt, so I chose some fabrics for her based on the bride-to-be’s requests

and we got started on the first arc

and I had great fun choosing some more sets for Val to cut

Denise too started a new quilt, this time for an expected baby, using these fabrics and a large hexagon

and by class end the pile was growing of cut and prepped hexies ready for hand stitching

Jennifer had her next border pieces for “Mrs Billings” prepped so we worked out in which order they would go and which squares to add for the corners

Frances has decided to try a different fabric in one round of her “June Dyson Coverlet” so she cut them out and switched them over

and Rosalie peeled off all the papers from her woolly bits and set them into position, prepped and added in the leaves

then chose some threads to start the embroidery work

Lots of lovely projects. Rosalie’s woollie bits quilt top is wonderful!

  2. Another kaleidoscope of gorgeous pieces. It’s always intriguing to see how a design like Mrs Billings changes so much in each different person’s hands..

Oh my! Once again, your group’s color choices have sent me reeling with excitement. I won’t tell you which border fabric I like best for Val’s Mrs. Billings as I am looking forward to seeing which she chooses. I love the colors in Jennifer’s as well. Rosalie’s wool applique is really calling me. I think I need to dig out some woolly bits! Thanks for the inspiration.
