Monthly Makes | July

I was not going to be a last-minute-lassie with my Monthly Make in July, so closer to the beginning of the month I hunted through my box and found this gorgeous piece of wool that my dear friend Anne had given my on one of her visits to Australia

I always thought it would make a lovely scarf so earlier in the year? late last year I bought some Liberty to line it with

and they go so well together

Unfortunately and Liberty is just a tad short so I had to hunt through my Liberty box to see if I could find something suitable to add in. The only piece big enough was this, but I figured if I put it in the centre it would sit against my neck and not be seen

So I split the Liberty floral, added the teapots between and set about sewing the Liberty to the wool

I used a slightly wider seam and didn’t cut off the selvedge as I wanted as much of the floral as was possible. Then I needed to trim the corners

and turn it out, giving it a good press, and voila!

Very happy and it works well with my black coat and oh so warm!

Did you get any small kit or project made for July?
