Pseudo Sewjourn ~ Part 1

What is especially galling about this lockdown is that it is normally our weekend away at Sewjourn; a much anticipated and much loved weekend spent relaxing, laughing and catching up with dear friends. It’s the first we will have missed since Jan opened it, 15? 16? years ago.

As we can’t physically go to Sewjourn, I’ve decided I’m having a Pseudo Sewjourn and have stocked up with what we usually have there;

~ alcohol (pretty label!)

~ chocolate & chips

~ cheese and biscuits (can’t find my usual dates to have with them though)

I’ve told The Golfer that I’m not cooking main meals for the weekend, so he’s ordered in meals from The Club (how handy is that? – might do it a bit more often!)

the bed has been made with fresh sheets this morning and I’ll be wearing my new Llama Pajamas just as I would have at Sewjourn

and I shall be ensconced in the front room with the fire going, DVD’s to hand, nibbles nearby, whatsapp-ing with my fellow Sewjourners, and lots to do…………….

there’s

applique…..

hand quilting…..

kantha…..

knitting…..

crochet…..

embroidery…..

ooh, and a new project to start……

Care to join me? Virtually, of course!!

NOT HAPPY!!!! Its the 1st aniversary of my fractured shoulder!! I cant get motivated so far – still bitterly disappointed of missing our weekend! Oh well there is always next time!! 💖

Such a great idea Meredith……. the idea is making me get more house work done today so I don’t feel so bad taking the weekend off to indulge my passion! Enjoy yourself 😘

Your post made me smile from beginning to end! I really love the idea of a ‘no cooking’ couple of days and sewing your your PJ’s. Enjoy your weekend!

  4. Great idea!! A group of guild friends had planned a sewing weekend this weekend… I think we need to do this instead 🙂

It’s hard to find our plans are not possible- mine was a holiday! But, love your style and positivity! Have a lovely weekend! Xxx

Kind of jealous! I want to join in a craft weekend! Love all your ideas, treats and PJs (such cute fabric!). One question – will hubby be next to you sewing/crafting too? If it were my house my husband would make himself scarce in case I handed him a pair of knitting needles – he admits it’s a skill to knit as he tried it once and found it too difficult – he says he’ll never try again – though he’d be handy to have around at my beck and call … ‘more coffee darling? more cake ? Can I stoke the fire’ …. he he!

Glad you are adhering to my method of choosing wine by the prettiness of the label!! Enjoy your weekend Little Sis xx

So frustrating about your lockdown. We’re on the verge of another one, lots of hints so we can tell it’s probably in the works. Ughh.. So tired of this year already! Great to hear you’re having your own weekend and not cooking. That’s the spirit!

Pseudo sewing posts really bought a smile to my dial – no stopping you! A truly fantastic idea to replicate Sewjourn conditions (albeit without us girls). Enjoy yourself and I look forward to seeing what you’re working on.

  11. Happy Stitching, then! I shall try to be with you in spirit (not spirits!!)

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
