Hello Dear Peeps! How are you? Anyone taking advantage of lifted/eased restrictions? It’s all much the same here at p&c; I was able to take Mum to a medical appointment last week albeit masked and sanitised to within an inch of our lives but measures I’m very grateful for in keeping Mum safe. Although we couldn’t touch each other, it was lovely to be able to talk face-to-face (or mask-to-mask!). As I’m taking her again this week I’m keeping myself to myself.
The Golfer is extremely pleased that he can now get out on the course (as am I!). Although no-one played well on their first day back they did have fun and from the tee #1 hit his ball straight down the middle, as usual, #2 hit his off to the right, as usual and my Golfer hit his left, as usual – social distancing? Not a problem!
Progress is being made on the sewing front. Quilting on my star QAL is coming along nicely. I have until the end of the month to get this one finished so better keep going.

Pleased to report my “Rocks and Whetstones” top is finished. Sat all day for virtual class and stitched the final sashings in place; it’s a long way across this quilt by hand – 76″

there’s nowhere big enough/light enough to put it out in full so you’ll just have to make do with these odd pics

loving that I was able to keep – mostly – to the softer palette

stretched my boundaries in keeping it soft

I’ve decided it needs a border so ordered this from thequiltshop which I think will do nicely. Will just have to wait impatiently for it to arrive.

Been a bit slower on the “Message in a Bottle” front; vase, leaves and stems are done, just doing the flowers now. And all this stitching has been done with a revisit to “The Good Wife” (bought myself the box set on sale a couple of years ago) and well into Season 2.

What have you been watching/listening too while stitching?
Meredithe x
Love the pastel colours Meredith, the quilt looks so delicate. I have been doing hand sewing as I continue to recover from surgery. I have watched ‘As time goes by’ series and just started ‘A place called Home’ which I haven’t seen before. Looking forward to who class starts again!
A big fat “nothing” this week!! Started knitting a hat in “red” (fir when i go walking) but mostly been reading!! 😊🤪
Nice to hear someone saw a loved one, albeit masked up. Here nothing much has changed and I am rather wary of restrictions being lifted – it seems not many are still being cautious. I popped to a supermarket briefly yesterday – it was a free for all, staff and customers seemed to all do their own thing – no uniformity at all – there I was in my mask, being shoved past, leant over – not much social distancing going on. I am hoping it was just that shop and those people and the next trip out will be more of a success. Today, sitting settled with more knitting and thinking I really should go back into my dining room later and finish the 2nd baby quilt I started a few weeks ago. Currently flipping between alternate crafts and today knitting is winning!
Lots of old episodes of Death in Paradise, have you seen it over there?
I’ve been watching less and less. It all seems a bit intrusive, somehow! Lots of medieval, renaissance and early baroque playlists, instead!
Even though it is nice that restrictions have been eased, I am still being careful on the rare occasion I go out. Large quilts are difficult to get photos of even in normal times, I like your soft palette for Rocks and Whetstones, the occasional touch of more intense colour adds interest to the quilt. I’ve been listening (and singing along) to music and the occasional podcast while I stitch.
