Around here

~ Picked a bunch of allsorts from the garden. I’m no florist, but I was pleased with how they look

~ Looking through one of my block books, I discovered this partially completed applique block and finished it

It’s for a quilt I’m designing……now to find the rest of the blocks and see what’s what

~ In the same block book was this, all cut out and ready to be stitched…….so I did.

It’s a “Timeless Tulips” block made with my template set

Have you found any half-done projects that you’ve decided to finish?

Hello, Your blocks are very pretty! I’m curious – what is a block book? Could you explain or show us pics. Take care.

Good evening Meredith. Thank you for all of your e-mails i read and often re read them at a later time. Isn’t it a treat to find Forgotten blocks. I had that pleasure lately also. I am biding my time now cutting and prepping to sew some 60+ masks. Did a fair bit of research first. Liked Jennie Doan for uncomplication. (If there is such a word)a knitted doll got the first one as i cut the elastic to span the back of head way too short. Will unpick it @ a later date. Am prepping tues @ present. Cannot find my bag of left over binding so just moving on. And will look forlingerie stretch fabric to cut ties (67%nylon& 23% lycra apparently it stretches and rolls. 60″ wide & 1/2 a ysrd makes 100 masks. No fraying at all. Stretchier than elastic so use less than 7″ per side and easier on the ears. Sorry for ranting. I hope you get lots of pre loved items done. Thank you and your lovely ladies for allowing us to see their lovely quilts, knits bags poncushions. Etc. Isolation has been my ‘friend’ for 3 yrs now. So quarantine is nothing new. No complaints here. Am happy with my own company luckily my craft and some of my family
Live here @ present. Only difference is no hugs for now. Be well. Wishing you and your golfer good health. Yours in friendship. Lyn Shortland. Aka. LynniiB.

I am currently stitching the binding on a Halloween quilt!!

  7. The flowers are beautifully colorful, and just what you need to maintain some cheer these strange days, I imagine.

I’m fortunate enough to be employed full-time and working from home. But it does mean that my crafting get up and go has truly got up and gone. I have two baby blankets to complete – both crocheted – and, yeah, getting back to them when who knows when I’ll see the babies for whom they’re intended? Mm. Not really.

Work is keeping me focused, and having my son also working from home is a great relief. He has rediscovered jigsaw puzzles, so that’s a good break from screen time for both of us 🙂

    Cheers, and keep smiling.

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
