Morning
Leanne is making eleventy hundred little hexagonsand we had a refresher on hand quilting as she’s starting to hand quilt her “Sweet Sunday“
Carole is also hand quilting, hers is “Carousel” (pattern by everyday quilts)
Marilyn is back with us and was piecing “Sweet Sunday” blocks
We welcomed a new student to class; Colette is venturing into the bag making world
and Sue W had some blocks made and we worked out the sashing for her blocks and she stitched them all together (the fabric is actually black not brown – don’t know what happened there!)
Afternoon
Two students stayed all day;
Linda showed us a bag she’s made – very professionaland she was working on the “Bessie Creek Road” BOM from Treehouse Textiles
and Lyn cut out more of her amended pieces and stitched them up and they work!
With the afternoon students, Fernanda brought in the cardi she’s just finished
and she cut out eleventy diamond pieces for “Potpourri“
Cathie brought in the baby quilt top she’s made from the fabrics we chose a little while ago and we discussed how she’ll quilt it
and Linda was so taken with it that, with a new grandchild on the way, she bought some fabrics to make a similar one
Cathie has also finished her applique and joined the pieces on
Cheryl had been playing with hexagons and stripes during the week
and prepped up some applique pieces in class
and Jane decided she would bind her cushion, so after triple checking everything, took heart in hand and cut through the hexagons so they would be the same size as the backing, stitched them together, then made and added the binding. Hoping to show you the finished cushion soon!
