Now for class at Sewn and Quilted……
Morning
Jo has started putting her second “Carousel” together (pattern by everyday quilts)and we chose some fabrics, and she started cutting out diamonds for “Stargazey” (pattern by everyday quilts)
Marilyn has these two gorgeous doileys which we’ve decided will go into the border of her “Sweet Sunday“
and during class she whipped up these blocks for it (the little embroidered flower in the top block is from a doiley Marilyn embroidered in her teenage years!)
Leanne has her “Sweet Sunday” blocks together
and we chose, and she cut the borders for it
and she had a lesson on trimming half-square triangle blocks
Sue W stitched up a whole heap of half-square triangles for her new quilt, and then started trimming hers too – great to see those piles changing sizes!
Carole worked on another border flower pot
and Sue E has started piecing the blocks for the new Treehouse Textiles BOM “Bessie Creek Road” and she traced out the next section
Afternoon
Tineke came with show and tell! She’s finished the cushion she was working on last yeareven machine quilting it using a variety of stitches on her sewing machine
and she’s finished the hexie quilt she was making last year too, also quilting that herself
and in class Tineke put together some units and made the first of her new blocks
Cheryl and I started choosing fabrics for her “Sugar Plum” quilt
we welcomed a new Lyn to the afternoon group, and she cut out some squares for a baby quilt, learning how to use rotary cutting equipment
Frances decided to add some ric-rac to her “Frances Quilt” and had a lesson in how to attach that
Helen made up a backing for a quilt she finished over Summer (forgot to photograph it!) and also made this little block
and Jane had all the pieces cut for her baby quilt and started piecing it together

I keep the pictures of the “Sweet sunday” blocks for ideas for ever……….🤗
Well done Tineke!
Everyone’s projects are inspiring! I want to make the 3 dimensional quilt some day!
I don’t know how you cope with all those students!!
I’m seeing some lovely work this afternoon
