Class show and tell

The first class show and tell this week is from the quilt shop.  It was lovely to see everyone again, fresh and eager to start a new year!

Val has worked very hard over the Summer and finished her applique borders and attached them so now there are just the corners to applique and Val worked on them in classRosalie brought in a BOM she’s been working on and we sorted out a query she had with the borders and she also brought in some hexie blocks, which we hatched a plan for and laid outthen Rosalie started cutting out joining diamondsMaureen joined the class and together we basted her quilt (well, me helping in between working with my other students)and Maureen had a quick class in big stitch hand quilting which she’s taken to like a duck to waterJennifer cut and started machining the sashings for her “Bright Star” quilt (pattern by Christine Vlasic Yarra Design)and her family had given her a gift voucher for Christmas so we chose some fabrics for what will be a very different “Mrs Billings” quiltDenise started tracing and cutting out the first blocks of the 2019 BOM “Bessie Creek Road” from Treehouse TextilesKaren stitched up some stars and we solved a mathematical problem to get these stars to fit with a centre she’s made (not pictured – you’ll have to wait!)and Frances patiently worked at getting her edging right after turning her bagged tablecloth to the right sideThere will be more from the quilt shop next week!
