Friday stitching

With the advent of February I’m slowly starting to get back into routine; it was hard to remember what day of the week it was without my regular “happenings” in January!  Classes start back this week, and I’ve opted to do an additional class at the quilt shop in Eltham so there will be an extra Class Show and Tell post for you.  And social sewing has started in earnest too, so let’s take a look……

We had sewing at Maree’s on Friday.  It was a much cooler day (thank goodness!) and we sat outside on her deck under the shade of one of two fabulous, gigantic trees in her back garden.with delicious afternoon teaand even a cheesecake cooked by Mr M just for us! which, I can assure you, tasted even more fabulous than it looked.

Maree had show and tell – she’s been working on blocks from “Happy Flowers” for a little while and was putting the borders on her version of itHelen had show and tell too, her CAL “Sweet Pea” from Lucy at Attic24and two sweet cardi’s she’s knitted for a work colleague’s new bubKaren also had show and tell, finishing off her embroidery cloth over the break and we had a discussion on options to finish the edgeand she was working on some stars for her “Happy Flowers” (not quite as advanced as Maree!)and I was valiantly finishing off another Flowers QAL blockEven when the wind grew quite gusty, it was delightful sitting outside enjoying the mild temperature and chatting and laughing with my friends.
