Woolly Bits Weekend

The weekend before last (yep, I’m that far behind!), I had the pleasure of staying at Millrose with some of my Woolly Bits classmates.  We were light on numbers this year but still had a great time!It was more like Winter than Summer for the weekend; grey, cold, wet, windybut we were warm and dry inside, had food laid on, great company and the shop next door – perfect!

I spent time making more bits for “Taking Liberties”and used the design wall to put up what I’ve made so far (as you’ve seen)Jacinta was working on a project for her schoolJoy was finishing off the last of the never ending quilting on her “Sweet Sunday” (she was convinced there were quilting pixies unpicking what she’d already quilted!)Kerry bought some fabrics to make little bagsand Lynne finished off/made bag, after bag, after bag……and Lizzie helped me choose some threads for a QAL that I’m joining which starts in January and is hosted by Cecile. We enjoyed lots of lovely foodand at our Kris Kringle I received this set of sewing accoutrementsand this is the bag I made to give Too soon we were saying our farewells and wishing each other a Merry Christmas – which sounded really strange…….

We’ll be back with more Woolly Bits Doings in 2019!

So you all worked a lot. Maybe because you had to stay inside?🤗

  2. A great use of all the time hiding from the weather!

Oh, I wish I could have been there (even if it was raining!). I love the fabrics and threads that you have chosen for the QAL – looking forward to seeing your progress.

Wow! Taking Liberties is really taking shape. So many different components. I loved what you did with the unpieced borders by taking the large fabric pattern and appliqueing it to a different background. I’ve also been working on some simple bags for gifts this years. Your exchange looks like fun.
