Class show and tell


It was Carylin’s birthday so she brought in a delicious cake to shareJoy joined us and with limited space(!) we managed to get her (rather large) candlewick quilt top ready and then she pin basted itSue E and I worked as a team to get the sashings onto her blocks and then sewing them together – I pinned, Sue sewedDenise cut out heapsCarole worked on another block and I did the pen work for herand Sue W added lights to her Christmas panel


Three students stayed all day;  Carylin finished off the last of her hexagon bits and started to applique them onLyn finished stitching down her bindingand we made a rod pocket and attached it so she can hang her new quiltand Fernanda stitched stars all dayand with the other afternoon students, Cheryl has made some more “Star in a Day” blocksand she worked on another “Pele Mele” blockCathie had finished sewing her strips together, so she cut them up and we started to work on a layoutSue M worked on her bordersI showed Tineke how to sew her triangle pieces into hexagons, and she went nuts with it!Frances started to stitch down the cloth on her quilt and we looked at trims for the edgeand Jane finished another corner block.Meredithe x
