Class show and tell

Morning

Anne-Maree has finished her butterflyand together we chose fabrics and then she set up several more blocks ready for applique for her “Natures Journey” quiltLeanne has used the left overs from her quilt top to help make her backing big enoughand with borders attached, I showed her how to mitre the cornersSue W cut and added her final borders to this BIG quilt!  She chose a backing too and it’s all ready to be left for quilting

Afternoon

Two students stayed all day; Lyn sewed down her bindingand Linda worked steadily on embroidering her stems and flowers, trying out some new stitches and having a refresher on some old onesand with the other afternoon students, Sue M has all her main blocks ready, so we did some careful measuring and drawing of lines ready to trim the blocksFernanda bagged out her quilt and top stitched it ready for a crocheted edgeHelen made some more “Sweet Sunday” blocksCheryl worked on “Pele Mele” (love the tin!)Frances and I did some maths to work out how to get a mitred border to sit underneath her worked clothand Jane started attaching her border pieces.Meredithe x
