I did manage to drag myself from my sick bed last week to get to class for my students, but haven’t had the oomph to post about it, but better had before it gets too late!
Morning
We were spoilt with morning tea from Linda, a delicious banana loafSue E stitched more of her squares
and bought some of the new fabrics in the store
I helped Leanne cut the final borders for a quilt
and she shopped too for some fabrics for a new project
Carole nearly finished the next block and I did some pen work on the bugs
and we set up a little block for her too
Afternoon
Four students stayed all day; Carylin has been very busy while we had that couple of weeks off, finishing a quilt top and nearly completing a couple of others
and in class she was busy with her hand quilting
Lyn finished machine quilting her little quilt
Fernanda had finished the applique for her bag
she then started running stitch embroidery around all the applique pieces and also chose some fabrics for the lining and top
Linda has block 1 finished
and together we set up and she started work on block 2
Linda also showed us a beautiful supper cloth that she’s bought, complete with embroidery threads and she’s going to embroider it
and she shared a photo of her finished and hanging “Umbrella” quilt
We were spoilt in the afternoon too as it was Cheryl’s birthday and she brought in a cake to share
Cheryl has made 4 of the “Star a Day” blocks
and she’s working on a clam shell project too
Tineke has finished the hand quilting on her quilt
and she worked some more of her bird
Sue M made more “Woodlands” blocks and stitched some together
After a bit of brain work from me (not easy when you’re not well!) with directional fabric and just-not-quite-enough, Helen cut and stitched on the outer side borders for her top (we’ll work on the top and bottom borders next time!)
Frances started putting her blocks together
Jane worked on her next block
but she had The Best Show and Tell…….her Double Wedding Ring quilt is finished!!
and looks fabulous! Jane and I learnt a lot during this quilt journey!
