On Friday Helen and I ventured into town by train to go to the Melbourne Craft and Quilt Fair. It was an amazingly mild July day in Melbourne town; except for the trees you wouldn’t think it was a Winter’s day.Our first stop was the quilts as our Kaye had two in the Show. We love this one and it’s name – all Kaye’s own design and Kaye’s interpretation of the “Civil War Bride” quiltand I was especially delighted to see that Frances (from class) won a prize with her “Aunts’ Quilt”! (I got distracted and forgot to take a pic of the prize details – apologies)It was then onto the stalls and a peruse and maybe a purchase or two. But the Best Bit for us was meeting so many friends from near and far and having such lovely chats and catch ups, some not seen for a long time.
On the way back to the station we noticed an outdoor exhibition of Melbourne in framesSuch interesting works and perspectives of the city and how the frames were used to showcase the photos or be of interest in themselves – and love the wallpapers!
