Class show and tell

Today’s is from the class at Sewn and Quilted.

Morning

Sue E has the first border of her new quilt nearly  doneand we chose corners, which she prepped, for the next borderJo is making another “Carousel” quilt (pattern by Everyday Quilts) so we chose fabrics for blocksDenise and I had a play with the joining pieces of her EPPlooking at how different fabrics will work outMarilyn worked on her circlesCarole worked on her beesand asked me to draw in the legs and feelers of her Queen Bee (heart was beating fast!)and Sue make two blocks for her new quiltAfternoon

Fernanda stayed all day, and in the morning she embroidered her Ruby Mayand with her two pieced quilts, she’s determined to make a block of each a day Jane had two blocks made for her BOMand made another two in classHelen showed us a gift she received from a friend who has recently returned from a trip to Japan; even the packaging is lovely!and together we managed to get her flannel quilt top finished!Cheryl brought in some op shop finds; an apron made from a table cloth and an embroidered piece we thought would be great as a quilt centre and we worked on the placement of her pentagon flowers on her “Frances” quiltand Anita joined us for the afternoon, bringing a beautiful basketand together we chose fabrics and had a lesson in directional fabric cutting Meredithe x

  1. That embroidery looks very much in the same style as some of the designs in my 1930s “The Needlewoman” magazines. I’m looking forward to seeing what happens to it!
