6and6in2018 | March

There’s not much to show you (again!) for this month.  I did start something new and have a plan and one block.  This is my “Jackaroo Star” template set.(Could have pressed it!)

I have done a fair bit on Ma’s jumper though, with the front finished during the week and the sleeves started (I like to knit both at once). So how did you go this month?  What “New” did you start?  I’m so keen to see/hear all about it!  Life is slowly returning to normal (whatever that is) and I’m hoping for better progress in April.

If you have a blog, please add your link below (link will be open for a week); if you don’t have a blog, list your month’s achievements in the comments, or add a post to Instagram with the hashtag #6and6in2018  Can’t wait to see what everyone has done!  And if you missed out on posting last month, please join in this month – Anne and I would love to have you along on the challenge.

Hi Meredithe, it is not so surprising that you have not been able to do a lot of your new projects. You made progress with the jumper!
I finished one Polak star and cut another one. Tomorrow we can see in the e-mail what to do for week 13 for the free hexagon pattern. I almost finished week 12. And I started another new project: crocheting a baby blanket. The pattern is: the Midwife blanket.

M, I had grand plans to join in your challenge, but alas, still haven’t got my sewing mojo back after last years ‘burn out’. I have just been knitting and although I have prepped 12 Brimfield Blocks & 3 months of the 365 Perpetual Calender Blocks, I have only done about 10 out of 100 so far. No motivation. Hoping the AQC will motivate me. I will be there on the Friday. Would love to say g’day if you are there on that day.

Well, I’ve got the Amarna Backpack finished, and got my courage wound up to work on the box for Eve in the Garden of Eden. And been blindsided by the cover for Maggie and the Embroiderers Guild 100 Hearts….!

Love your new block, and Ma’s jumper is looking good! Off to do my post!

Great finished block and beautiful jumper!

I lost the first 12 weeks of this year to illness and I am just resurfacing enough to consider sewing again. I love the idea of 6 ufos and 6 new projects. You always have such lovely ideas.

You always choose the most interesting fabrics!!!

  8. Jackaroo Star is an interesting block. I don’t think I’ve seen it before. Then again, once it’s pressed it WILL look completely different so maybe I have! LOL

Lovely to hear you are making some progress, Meredithe. I have managed to bind a quilt (on last year’s list!) and pop it onto a bed before the guests arrived for the Easter break, so I was pretty chuffed to tick that off. I have made some significant progress on a pretty little crochet pram/cot blanket which I spontaneously started earlier in the month for my daughter who is due in August….the first of many planned creations to spoil her with! And apart from that, all other projects have been patiently waiting in the background! Fortunately, they don’t go off! Have a happy creative month! 🌺

I feel pretty sluggish with this challenge thus far this year, but I’m trying to keep plugging along! Looks like you are having a bit of trouble too.:)

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
