A little Liberty

Helen, Sue and I had a fun day on Friday, tootling up the freeway to Millrose to see their Liberty exhibition.  As always the exhibits were beautifully displayed, the staff having turned the shop upside down and inside out to make a stunning presentation of Liberty, Liberty and a bit more Liberty.  (Forgot the camera, so these are phone pics – apologies for the quality)

There were little things Liberty

As well as lots of quilts, cleverly gated off with Liberty bunting

I didn’t take pics of all the quilts (it got a bit crowded!), but here are some

And from our own GJ a beautiful hand appliquéd, hand pieced and hand quilted quilt, all in Liberty

After all that drooling, we needed sustenance so went next door for some lunch

We did take a little detour home via Gisborne to visit Patch n Quilt; Sue and Helen both had little(!) bags to bring back (please note – I was very restrained. only because I’ve visited there twice in the last month!)

Can’t wait to see what they get up to with these goodies!

Thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition, thank you to Sue and all the staff, and congratulations to everyone who put in an exhibit – amazing work!

Loved that Liberty quilt show. How fun and inspiring. Like them all, but especially the one by Glenda and the two star ones. Thanks so much for sharing.

Beautiful quilts! The Celestial stars quilt of Sharon Burgess is my favourite. I would like to know how the blocks are built up. I can not see that on the picture. Liberty Flowers of Glenda Cust is a beauty too. I saw that one before. 🤗

Lucky you!! I adore the Liberty and white double wedding ring quilt…..Millrose posted a pic of it. Think I will scrap my DWR quilt which has been a UFO now for 10+ years and do a Liberty one….much classier!!!
