Class show and tell


Marilyn is back from a short break and we chose the background/border fabrics for her “Carousel” blocks – which are all finished!

and she worked on some of her circlesSue W made flying geeseSue E cut out backgrounds and started laying out her border diamondsJo worked on one of the last two of her blocksLeanne worked on her diamond borderand Beth just has the last couple of background pieces to stitch inAfternoon

Carylin has her hexagons all finished and will now start on the applique for the borderseven the back looks pretty!together we chose fabrics and Carylin started cutting for a new quilt Cheryl joined us with her pretty sewing box, pin cushion and scissorsand, from a pile of projects she’s hoping to finish, chose Drunkard’s Path blocks which she quickly whipped up on the machineNova learnt how to hand blanket stitch this dinosaur onto her little son’s t-shirtJane finished off some more sectionsand Tineke and I had more fun learning embroidery stitchesMeredithe x

    The yellows Marilyn chose for her Carousal blocks are wonderful. It will make it bright and so cheerful. Carylin’s interpretation of Di’s quilt Pendle Hill is beautiful.

    He delightful it is to see all that wonderful work by those I usually sew with! I have just been at my annual quilting retreat at Tocal, NSW and am still up here catching up with old friends. Can’t wait to get back to S&Q the first Thursday in June…all day too, woo-hoo!!

  6. Everyone’s work is beautiful as usual. I love Carilyn’s Pendle Hill. I have seen Di’s version up close a lot this week so it is good to see it looking different and encouraging for my own version. Thank you for showing.
