Weekend sewing

Before the weekend actually gets here, I’d better update you on last weekend!  (yep, falling behind in my blogging duties again!)


On Friday we ventured out to Miss Helen’s for the afternoon; a casual, help yourself lunchwith fruit for aftersKaren is putting together her large hexagonsI was putting borders on “Saigon”Maree had quite a bit of her bag togetherand Helen was working on her beautiful embroideryHelen has also been crocheting this gorgeous bassinet blanket


Squealers met at Karen’s on Saturday, with plenty of afternoon brought along to shareThere was lots of different show and tell too; books a finished quilt topand a rope pot holder made by a sailor from South AustraliaKaren has made these tiny Dresden Plate blocksand was appliqueing these flowers for her “Message in a Bottle” quiltHelen finished another embroidery block, this one her own designMiss S finished off two of her hexagonsand now there’s this many!Cathie is knitting this blanketMiss E has started a hat for her husband – hopefully to be finished before Winter descendsMaree had finished sewing up her hexies, and it was sandwiched and quilting begunI was working on MSG, but can’t find the photo!  Never mind.  Helen and I came as the Bobbsy Twins!

We had some little visitors too; Miss 7 made a mattress for her younger brother’s teddy bearthen decked it out with a sheet and pillow caseand Miss 11 wanted to join in the fun, so she cut out some squares to sew togetherMore sewing adventures/catchups tomorrow!
