Class show and tell

Morning

Carole had another of her “Carousel” blocks almost finished and completed it in class.

02-dscn5734Beth has been busy with her blocks too03-dscn5735Sue W had put on a few more rounds04-dscn5736and did more in class and cut for the next few rounds too15-dscn5751and Sue W has finished this top05-dscn5738Sue E has completed all her Dresden Plate blocks and is now hunting for a sashing06-dscn5740so she started cutting for “Carousel” too11-dscn5747Marilyn has a “Carousel” block finished07-dscn5741Leanne too has blocks finished and we found fabrics for backgrounds and border 09-dscn5744and Denise is cutting too12-dscn5748Jo and I spent some time sorting these pieces into star groups10-dscn5746and she had one finished by class end (think there was a bit of chatter happening at that end of the table!)16-dscn5752Carylin has finished her centre broderie perse08-dscn5742and was working on hexagons for the same quilt (one of Di Ford’s patterns, sorry can’t remember which one)13-dscn5749

Afternoon

Lyn stayed all day and worked diligently on blanket stitching her blocks on the machine – heaps more to go!23-dscn5759Fernanda sewed some more big hexie blocks during the week and brought them to show us17-dscn5753and towards the end of class we laid them all out to see how they were looking19-dscn5755Tineke has appliqued lots of her stars26-dscn5764Theresa wanted to learn to hand piece, so I gave her a lesson in using templates and hand piecing as she embarks on “Farmer’s Wife” using French General fabrics24-dscn5760Sue B joined us and she spent the time cutting out background pieces for a Double Wedding Ring quilt…….lots of cutting!21-dscn5757Linda has started placing and appliquéing her clam shells25-dscn5762and Linda gave me this delightful Liberty basket18-dscn5754which I think needs some really pretty threads put into it.  Aren’t I a lucky teacher!

    where did you get the little wedge ruler for the circle’s that you are making for your scrappy circles. what a great way to use up more scraps – are the wedge rulers available on line?
