Yesterday was my last group sewing day and final breakup for 2016. The Stitch Sisters met at Kaye’s beautiful home, and we all keen to see the art work produced by Miss C after another year at uni. We were not disappointed! This is a painting, and while it looks like its been overlaid with doileys or stitching, it is in fact……paint!Miss C was also asked to create something with pieces diametrically opposed to each other; she chose to make a chandelier from water grates (bought at a closing down sale of a prominent hardware store) and old chandelier crystals (from various markets). All she needs is for her electrician Dad to hang it for it, but as it weighs a tonne, he’s being a bit cautious about finding a main beam!(Not the best photo, but it was heavy and awkward to hold and photography successfully – I’ll have another try when it’s up and working!) Miss C is also painting landscapesMiss C was also let loose on the Christmas decorating, and she’s gone to town!
Buffet chairwallsmantletreeer, treesand not even the stand of old pots and irons escaped! And this is only a small selection! The table was beautifully laid, complete with a bottle suited to the dayor bubbles for those that prefer a bit of sparkleThen there was the food. Ooh, we do do food well!!of course it would be rude not to try a bit of everything!then dessert!!By this time it was 3.30, so after present exchanges and diary dates for next year, the crowd started to thin. Only Karen actually got out something to occupy her hands (the rest of us were waving them in the air with our talking!), as she’s knitting a cardi for a grand daughter, but did I take a pic? Apologies!
When the clock struck 6.30 – what?? How did it get to be that late?? – the rest of us departed with fond farewells and seasons greetings.
More tomorrow Peeps!
