The wholesale market for quilting, Australian Quilt Market, was held last weekend in Melbourne. This is where retailers get to see and order what’s up and coming from the wholesalers. As you know, I design and have manufactured templates through one of the market’s wholesalers and I worked on Sunday at the trade show promoting templates amongst all the other goodies that Victorian Textiles sell to retailers.
Today I am absolutely delighted to announce that, as well as having my own range of templates, I am now working with some of Australia’s quilt pattern designers to bring you templates to go with their patterns! And here are the first of the Meredithe Clark Designer Templates!
Many of you will know these particular designers, may even have done a class or two with them, and may have some of their patterns. If you haven’t started working on the patterns yet, you may like to get hold of the accompanying templates; we all know how much easier life is with a template!
First up, there is a new pattern coming soon by Judy Newman and this 6″ Lovers Knot is just the ticket to make her “a very fine house” pattern. (Code VT6004MC)Then from Sandra Boyle at Everyday Quilts, three of her most popular quilts, “Peony Medallion” (Code VT6001MC)“The Welsh Quilt” (Code VT6003MC)and “Carousel” (Code VT6002MC)and from Yarra Design by Christine Vlasic, “Primavera” (VT6005MC)and “Marrakesh” (Code VT6006MC)PLEASE NOTE: There are NO instructions given with these templates; they are meant to be used in conjunction with the relevant designer’s pattern.
You can ask for these templates at your local quilt shop (just give them the relevant code to assist in their ordering from Victorian Textiles), along with the patterns. (If you are a shop and want to order these patterns, please contact me and I’ll pass on the information)
We will be releasing more templates for existing patterns over coming months, and as new patterns are designed by these talented ladies, templates for them will also be available.
Pretty exciting, huh? I do hope you enjoy making these patterns with their new templates as much as I’ve enjoyed bringing the templates to you.
