Class show and tell

Morning

Denise has two more of her blocks finishedand in class she ironed on the shapes for the next blockand then cut, cut , cut, cutAs Denise was packing up at the end of class I noticed this cute little fella in her boxHe’s a tape measure!Sue E is up to the last side of her quiltand together we chose fabrics for the little diamondsWanna see a bigger picture?  Ok – Sue is making a quilt from Brigitte Giblin’s “Feathering the Nest”, I think volume 1Sue W is putting borders onto her quiltand together we worked out what her next quilt will be, chose some extra fabrics, and I showed Sue how to cut and pin for machine piecingand Beth has some of her blocks sewn togetherand Marg, who looks after us so beautifully on a Thursday, had some show and tell; this is a Christmas quilt that’s not so Christmassy 

Afternoon

Lyn stayed all day and we started by cutting the borders, each individually, for her new projectthen the start of some blocks

Fernanda has been making this quilt at home as a surprise for her daughterand in class we started putting together the blocks made last weekwe played with the layout for Frances’ “Aunts’ Quiltsorted the arrangement for some of Jane’s blocksJane also worked on these blocksTheresa had another appliqué lesson, this time looking at curves and layoutsTineke started on her next borderJoan joined us and we had a lesson on finishing off quilt-as-you-goand Cathie had more triangle fun.Meredithe x
