Hello

Hello, Dear Peeps.  I’m gradually coming back to the world of the living.  How can a microscopic “thing” fell a human being?  Take away all energy, leave one listless, enervated, dull and so tired?  Energy is starting to return so while it’s here I thought I’d pop in to say “hello” and to thank you all for your sympathy, encouragement, advice and lovely comments.  I read every one (can we take this as a blanket, wholehearted “Thank You”? Ta!) and they cheered me no end.  You really are the loveliest of readers – mwah!

I’ve been doing nothing except watching tv, reading and sleeping, but yesterday the sun was shining, the skies bright blue and it really felt like Spring.  So I made the most of it and planted myself on the deck with a cuppa, Pa’s Summer hat and a book, pushing up my sleeves to take advantage of the sunshine and soak up some vitamin D.The book is Emma Jansen’s “By The Bundle“, which I bought a couple of weeks ago and have been wanting to take my time to read and delve into and yesterday was the perfect opportunity,and if I wasn’t a quilter I would have bought the book anyway for the stunning photographyThe projects are well laid out with clear, easy to follow instructions and accompanying diagrams.  There’s also lots of information on fat quarters (which the projects are based on but not obligatory to use), how to cut them up economically, how/why colours are used and good general information on quilting.  It’s one of those special books that I’ll go back to time and again – and not just for the photography.

Looking at Emma’s book made my fingers itchy (even if the body was going nowhere), and I dragged out some favourite repro books and designed another eleventy quilts in my head. That was enough to work for one day.

    So very sorry to hear you have been down. No internet for me for the month of October so I am just now catching up. Take your time and allow yourself to really get well. We are so blessed that when we are down we can still dream in fabric! Itchy fingers….that sounds positive.
