Our Lizzie has been in isolation of late and, nearing the end of her tether, called upon a group of us to be her “rescue squad”; visit, socialise, basically eat, drink and be merry………..well, yes, could, possibly……of course we would be there!!!
I love visiting Lizzie in her “shed”, and this time there’s a fire
with the choice of a comfy chair
or a spot on the couch
and Lizzie had even left out some reading matter, not that there was any time to read – we were far too busy chatting and stitching.
It was a sunny but cold day, the view from the windows defying the outside temperature
There’s so much look at
inside and out
We shared the catering, and oh! we did do well! A cuppa (and no, it wasn’t me that made those marks on the cutting mat!)
and some nibbles for morning tea
a delicious lunch of chicken and pasta soup, with crispy chicken nuggets and couscous to follow
and then afternoon tea
I showed off my MSG
we played with some of the bits I’ve been prepping
and I made another 60 hexies
GJ is knitting, no, no not socks but a beanie
(but it’s great sock yarn; must get me some of that!)
Jacinta has finished her etui
and it’s being put to good use while she’s stitching the last of her birds
Jan is embellishing a scarf in pretty pastels
and it looks like a missed the photo ops of Lizzie’s work, apologies Lizzie (you can see what she’s been up to on her blog).
As I wandered through Lizzie’s gorgeous home to the dining room for lunch
I loved the shadow play on this quilt The dining room has been renovated since our last visit
and if one should become bored with the table conversation (not likely!), there’s a lovely view out the window.
All too soon the shadows were lengthening, the air became more chilled and we reluctantly made our farewells and headed home.
As Helen would say, “heaven on a stick”! Thanks Lizzie x
