Challenge day 13 and a special visitor

During class the other day while Jo and I were playing with the placement of her paisley pieces, I became aware of someone standing nearby.  When I turned to look, the person introduced herself as Anne, one of my long time readers.  Anne is visiting family in Melbourne (she’s from interstate), and I was so pleased that she was able to take time out to call in and make herself known.  (There just may have been squeals of delight!)

I still find it amazing to be able to make friends through the magic of the Internet, and even more special to finally meet these dear peeps in person!  Thank you Anne G for calling in, and I do hope we can catch up again for longer next time xx

I had a very busy and productive day yesterday.  After sorting some domestic issues in the morning, I took heart in hand, a couple of deep breaths, measured carefully and finally trimmed my MSG blocks to size, joined them together and then cut and stitched on the borders.  It now looks like this

Pretty happy with that! and those pieces I was working on last week will eventually find their way somewhere around  here

which, until ready to be appliquéd, will happily live with the other bits and bobs in the making, in their MSG bag (available from Sewn and Quilted

While doing the green grocery shopping the other day, my eyes were drawn to the flowers and I couldn’t resist picking up a bunch of ranunculus

yes, that’s shadows you can see; we finally had some sunshine this morning, in fact clear blue skies for a nano second

since then the grey clouds have moved back in, the wind has picked up and there is only intermittent sunshine.  Just another Winters day in Melbourne.

Today is our last day of The Challenge, and I shall be reporting on my doings tomorrow.  Until then, Dear Peeps, have a lovely, sewing-ful day.

Hello Meredithe. I love both the MSG quilt and the basket quilt. The border on the MSG quilt is stunning. I bought Margaret’s book and loved reading every bit of it. Whilst you may not have sunshine, I’m sure the beautiful flowers will brighten your day.
