Carole has finished her “Dancing Dollies” top

20160729-142207.jpgand she also brought in this gorgeous hexie quilt to show us

20160729-142351.jpgduring class she stitched some vines

20160729-142302.jpgJo had her hexie centre stitched down

20160729-142457.jpgso we cut that into a circle and then played with what is going next

20160729-142707.jpgSue W did more machine quilting

20160729-142759.jpgMarilyn has stitched all her hexies together and we laid them over the centre fabric ready to be appliquéd down

20160729-142856.jpgSue E had all her pentagons finished and in class we put them into their groups and Sue started joining them

20160729-143009.jpgand during class Beth finished appliquéing her corners to her quilt top.

Lyn stayed all day and sewed the binding to her quilt in the morning and started stitching it down in the afternoon

20160729-143151.jpgCarilyn also stayed all day, making these stars in the morning

20160729-143236.jpgand continued stitching this squares/triangles border and chose some more fabrics in the afternoon

20160729-143343.jpgTineke has her BOM up to date

20160729-143409.jpgand in class started cutting out shapes for the next section

20160729-143444.jpgAnn has two blocks completed

20160729-143518.jpgand we had a lesson on making a Lemoyne Star and also on EPP with these very cute, very small hexies!

After such busy classes, all I was capable of last night was some comfort knitting, and I turned the heel on the first sock.

Oh goodness, so much happening here… I love Carole’s “Dancing Dollies”, Tineke’s BOM is looking gorgeous in those colours, and I’m curious to see more of Marilyn’s hexis – I’m making this with my VFW fabrics! Love your latest sock too Meredithe and am enjoying following your challenge, is it just for 2 weeks?

  2. Annie Andrews says:

Love the socks, could you remind me of the pattern and what wool you use

  3. Carole Minihan says:

Oh a day out catching up with beautiful friends no stitching today

  4. What a productive day – right down to a gorgeous sock at the end!

  5. frayedattheedge says:

Lots of wonderful projects – I can’t pick a favourite this week! I was stitching hexies on to my long-neglected wallhanging last night, and will be doing the same tonight.

  6. Kyle says:

Carole’s dancing dollies is going to adorable when it’s quilted and Sue’s pentagons are intriguing.

  7. Michelle says:

I sure wish I could find your sock yarn here in the U.S., but I couldn’t- today anyway. I’m tempted to order from Australia, but $15- shipping is a bit too much! I’m still tempted though…

Love every single one of these quilts! Just too little time!

  8. Such lovely quilts being worked on! You have really been beavering away at your challenge too. Loving your socks!
