A Tula Pink kinda day

In case you didn’t know……TULA PINK IS IN AUSTRALIA!!

And thanks to our brilliant Social Secretary aka GJ for bringing this to our attention, a bunch of us went up to Millrose on Tuesday to meet Tula, listen to her talk, and view up close and personal some of her quilts.

T’was a very early start (left home at 6.45am), so nourishment was required when we arrived

20160621-175121.jpgThe main part of the shop was looking stunning

20160621-175204.jpgdecked out in all things Tula

20160621-175251.jpgand lots of “Tula” as temptations.

20160621-175328.jpgOver at the house, a bliss of quilters waited with baited breath

20160621-175450.jpgTula spoke so well; funny, articulate, engaging, she had us captivated for the whole time with the fascinating story of her quilt/design/creative journey

20160621-175617.jpgand then we saw and heard the stories of her quilts

20160621-175715.jpgparticularly engrossing was the tale of her “Elizabeth” range (one of my fav’s)

20160621-175922.jpgand Tula’s latest range due here Sept/Oct

20160621-180014.jpgI will forever look at her fabrics with a totally different eye now.

Then it was back to the shop for bubbles and nibbles (no pic as I was too busy talking), and Tula graciously signed lots of people’s stuff, including the top that I made last weekend especially for the day (an action shot! Thanks GJ)

20160621-183350.jpgand here’s the fan girl moment

20160621-183921.jpgI am so very impressed with this amazing, talented young woman. All my expectations of the day were exceeded and I will forever be a “groupie”! Tula’s next range is her 20th in 10 years……and may there be many, many more.

Thanks XLN, Sue and all the staff at Millrose, and Tula and her Mum, Kat for a fabulous, memorable day.
