What a (long) weekend! – part 2

There was one more day of fun scheduled on our (long) weekend. Monday morning we were up with the sparrows and on the road by 8.00am for the long drive from beach to country – Gisborne to be precise.

Mary and Irene invited a group of us to share a day of sewing with some Instagram friends, namely Kate (@modernbasics) Liesel (@lieselquilts) Vicki (@sticky_vicki) and Margaret (@mj_inparadise) who had flown in from interstate and overseas for a week in Victoria.

It was wonderful to put a face to a tag and make more new friends. There was lots of discussion and laughter, and we especially enjoyed show and tell. Just showing you snippets, otherwise we’d be here for hours!

20160413-173730.jpgTime passes so quickly on these days; it would have been wonderful to stay longer, but we had to get our guests to their next destination and it was time for GJ and I to head home…….and recover! It was a fabulous weekend and with the AQC starting tomorrow, I suspect we just might see each other again very soon…….

What a great record of memories! Sunday was so relaxing…just sitting, sewing, eating and having fun with friends. Monday was more “noisy”… everyone wanted to talk at the same time – everyone wanted to get to know each other. It was a wonderful meeting of old friends and new. We must do it again next year!

All I can say is that I will need to refer back to this morning’s blog several times to take it all in. Just beautiful work you gals do. Love the show and tell from the three special guests. The quilts have such a faded charm to them. Thank you so much for taking the time for the photos and the blog, so generous of you to share.

I continue to look forward to your blog and it never disappoints! Lots of eye candy in this post! I love the “clam shell” that has the little girl’s shoes. Makes it look like the piece above is her dress!

Gosh! So much work being done, fun being had, gorgeous fabrics, talent and inspiration! And what a lovely thing to do, to meet up with old and new friends, some of whom are from insta and blog land. I would love to do something like that as so many insta boggy friends seem lovely,
