Visitors and Visiting

I spent a lovely time this morning with GJ, Linda from koka quilts who is over from New Zealand visiting family in Melbourne, and Linda’s gorgeous DIL Miss C. Linda contacted me for some info on patchwork shops to visit, and we organised to meet up to go to a few and for a coffee too.

It’s always so nice to finally meet someone you’ve “met” through cyberspace and the four of us chatted non-stop while perusing fabrics at Sewn and Quilted, having a coffee at Urban Zinc, then more fabric viewing at Somerset Patchwork where I did just happen to spy one of the Friday Girls using a couple of these fabrics, which I promptly had to have!

If you head over to Linda’s blog in the next little while (on the link above), I think you’ll be able to see what she purchased. We had a delightful time finding out about each other and, of course, talking about our mutual love of patchwork. Made all the more special as Miss C is “into” textiles, though not quite at the quilting stage yet!

On the visiting front, I’m attempting my first linkup with Craftsy today (fingers crossed I’ve done it right!!) so you can visit over there!  Each month they have a bag to buy as a kit. The March bag is the Side Note Satchel Kit made using Kaffe Fassett fabric with the pattern by Indigo Junction. Quilters can never have enough bags, right?

This one looks like such a practical bag with lots of pockets – which we all love – and the kit is currently on sale at 40% off. Gotta love a bargain! Click on the link above to view the bag for yourself.

Have a great weekend, and for those who get it, have a fabulous long Labour Day weekend!

It was really special spending time with you & GJ yesterday! Yes, amazing how easy it actually is to spend time with complete strangers with a quilty connection, so much to chat about! Am excited about my little bit of ‘stash enhancement’ – looking forward to cutting into those repros soonish! oh, and I’m working on converting Char into patchwork!

How wonderful to meet a blog friend in real life!! That bag looks great. A different bag each month is a fun idea.
