Decisions, decisions…….

(the pics in today’s post are purely for visual value; snippets of some of my birthday pressies!)

Of late I’ve spent quite a bit of time in ponderous ponderings. “Why?” I hear you ask. Well, several weeks ago I received an email from a lovely lady at Craftsy asking if I would be interested in becoming an affiliate member of that organisation.

– I should pause here and ask, do you know of/have you heard of Craftsy? If not, they are a US based online community selling product (fabric, patterns, notions) and classes in all sorts of crafts, including quilting. The great thing about the classes is that once you’ve bought your class you can go back to it time and time again, replay sections as needed, and ask the instructor questions. That done, back to my story…… –

After I’d finished preening my feathers (what? my little blog??), I realised I needed to do some serious thinking and ask myself some questions. I love writing on my blog; it gives me great pleasure sharing my exploits with you, and I’m delighted that you, Dear Peeps, enjoy reading about them (thank you!). So I was a little concerned about becoming “commercial” until a friend pointed out that already, on many posts, I link to shops, businesses, events and products, which you can choose to visit or not.

Emails have been whizzing through the ether between Craftsy and yours truly, and I’ve decided to take the plunge and become an affiliate member. What does this mean for my blog? Well, you will notice a Craftsy link button on my side bar, and periodically I’ll post about specials or review a class.   Joining Craftsy is free.  Should you follow through on the link and purchase the product/class, I will receive a small commission. There is no obligation for you to buy; it will be a link like any other link that you see on my posts. If you follow through and buy, that’s great, if the information is of no interest, that’s fine too.

This is not a decision I’ve taken lightly, but let’s give it a go and see how it pans out!

I am a Craftsy affiliate also and I haven’t noticed anyone being offended by my few advertisements – I don’t push it but just post when the sales are and mention now and then when I am satisfied about something I got from them or about a class I have found helpful. Good luck in the venture!

Good for you! I have been a Craftsy member almost from its inception (started here in Denver, CO)….it is a quality operation for sure and has grown dramatically. I won’t say how many classes/supplies I’ve purchased, but I am a pretty loyal customer! I think this will be a positive experience for you and hope that maybe some day you will teach a class!

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
