Woolly Bits Sunday

On Friday and Saturday, the Millrose team had hosted Kaffe and Brandon for some lectures.

20160229-145752.jpgThe shop was festooned with quilts made by students from previous classes or from Kaffe’s books, or just using Kaffe’s fabrics.

20160229-145950.jpgincluding this one of mine (so nice to see it hanging!) from a class I did with Kaffe and Brandon a few years ago.

20160229-150015.jpgand The Liberty Room was converted temporarily to The Kaffe Room!

20160229-150718.jpgHowever, we were there for Woolly Bits, so here’s your fill………

Lynne has her “Bird Dance” finished……Ta Da!!

20160229-151014.jpgcomplete with gorgeous Liberty backing and a rod pocket for hanging

20160229-151059.jpgGJ has decided her “Flower Bed” is so close to finished, she will work on the border

20160229-151150.jpgand she had great fun with running stitch and her threads

20160229-151229.jpgKatrina worked on her bag in the morning

20160229-151255.jpgand her “Bird Dance” in the afternoon

20160229-151330.jpgJoy is quilting gum nuts and gum leaves in her borders

20160229-151406.jpgGail is decorating Christmas baubles

20160229-151453.jpgJacinta is getting those birds’ wings sorted

20160229-151537.jpgand Lizzie is working on something new and wonderful, of her own creating

20160229-151610.jpg(and t’others are working on secret Sue Spargo blocks [current and last year’s BOM] which I can’t show you yet)

Lunch time rolled ’round quickly and it was off next door

20160229-151702.jpgfor some sustenance

20160229-151723.jpgthen back for more stitching.

My next bird didn’t get finished; too much counting required for bullions and drizzle stitch, and concentration for rosette chain!

20160229-152031.jpgAnd there was a little interruption when this arrived with my afternoon cuppa…….

20160229-152114.jpgyes, another 12 months has come around and I turned another year older on Saturday. And just for you Anne…….

20160229-152225.jpgA big Thank You to Sue and the Millrose staff, and my Woolly Bits class mates for making my birthday extra special!

Hope you’ve all had a fab weekend too, Dear Peeps!

Much love

Wishing you a very Happy Birthday!! It’s good to see you were sufficiently spoilt. What flavour was the cake? it looks mouth wateringly delicious!

  2. Oh my – imagine not remembering it was my Little Sis’s birthday. What a fabulous way to celebrate it – and thank you for the special photo (yes, I am drooling!!). Lynne’s Bird Dance is fabulous!! I didn’t pay much attention to the Kaffe stuff – you know I’m not a great fan – but I bet Miss Helen is loving your photos!!

  3. It does look like an extra-special treat, I must say. But with so much to distract the eye, I am not at all surprised your bird didn’t get finished!
