Sewjourn – part 3

On our last day, Maree worked on her appliqué border for her version of French Market Medallion

20160215-165559.jpgand Maree stitched more stars too.

20160215-165648.jpgHeather stitched up some hexagons

20160215-165739.jpgGJ was paper piecing too, another centre for her La Passacaglia

20160215-172142.jpgFleur cut and stitched more Steampunk blocks

20160215-172556.jpgthen put all her blocks so far up on the design wall

20160215-172651.jpgJanine had a wonderful array of fabrics to choose from

20160215-172742.jpgfor another Noughts and Crosses block, making it 4 for the weekend

20160215-173053.jpgand she showed us her almost finished Guinevere

And much to Maree’s relief I cut out squares for Kendall Farm

Even though there were just left overs, lunch still looked and tasted delicious!

20160215-173450.jpgAnd as the previous day’s cactus flower waned

20160215-173546.jpgit was time to pack up and head home. Such a productive weekend! Thanks to my fellow Sewjourn-ers for a great time!

Tune in tomorrow for The Fashion Shoot!!

Wow I am in envy but should not be jealous because you and your fellow stitchers have produced beautiful work, as well of course great food, but I also get the feeling that the fellowship of this sojourn is just as important,

  2. A very productive time for you all!

Sounds like you had a fantastic long weekend.
Just wondering if you have finished your steam punk blocks yet ?

What a beautiful and productive weekend. I just love Fleur’s Steampunk, have not seen yours in a while. Is it finished, I look at that pattern every visit to my local quilt shop, wondering if I could stitch it on my machine. Heather’s hexagons have caught my eye, all Liberty I presume? You gals have the absolute best stash, I look at fabric differently now that I have been reading your posts. Thanks you Meredith.

Meredithe, you must be a talent magnet! Such gorgeous projects! Another day of reading blogs and not being very productive myself. Sighhhhhh! Is it New Years to make another resolution to change that?????? So enjoyed the pix.

Some lovely projects happening yet again! I love Fleur’s muted tones in her ‘steam punk’ blocks, and GJ’s vintage stars are looking great – I wonder what she will use for the backgrounds? Oh, and you have a pretty blue & pink selection in your 16patches… definitely a bit of stash envy over here on this side of the ditch!

  8. I’ve just caught up with your Sewjourn adventure, and I am CRYING, WEEPING AND GREEN WITH ENVY!!!!!!! Other than that, I am loving your dressmaking, and all the projects that the others were working on. And I may have drooled all over the laptop looking at the food!!

  9. Three inspiring posts. Thank you so much. Does the cactus flower have a scent? It’s beautiful.
