At the beach – part 2

After Tuesday’s perfect weather, Wednesday was horrendous! 42C (approx 114F), stiflingly hot and oppressive. So GJ and I hunkered down with a few movies

some nibbles

20160115-205254.jpgand with the air conditioning on, I managed to get some circles done for Quilty365. This is what 100 prepped circles looks like!

By contrast, after an uncomfortably hot night, the cool change arrived and it was positively chilly. I think we made it to a whole 17C. This has been such a Summer of contrasts.

We decided we deserved our breakfast out, but we were so late rising it turned into brunch. GJ took me to this place

20160115-210054.jpgwhich is such a delight from the moment you arrive. Look at this sweet bicycle

20160115-210150.jpga great outdoor seating arrangement

20160115-210228.jpgand inside, the perfect girly cafe, right down to the princess peacock chairs, which GJ kindly let me be-throne myself in!

20160115-210412.jpgThere was so much to look at

20160115-210741.jpgI love the pastel colours, the fabric on that chair, the fabulous use of frames, the sweet box of rolling pins.

Then there was the food…..

20160115-210917.jpg

20160115-210939.jpgand “playing ladies” teacups too!

20160115-211059.jpgScrumptious!

Should you wish to visit, here are the details

Seeing as we were half way there, we next visited Emma at Treehouse Textiles. Look at the cute window

20160115-211739.jpgand inside……..

20160115-211800.jpgand yes, some of that fabric did come home with me! (No point in discipline where fabric is concerned!)

This, to be a top

20160116-125644.jpgThese…..because…..

20160116-125712.jpg(the middle one is by Rashida Coleman-Hale my favourite designer from Cotton + Steel)

Little bits of Liberty, ‘cos I’m sure I’ll need more for my circles!

20160116-130118.jpgBecause these are sweet

20160116-130212.jpg(singing: “I’ve got sunshine, on a cloudy day”)

And this will go in with the Tilda for the Log Cabin quilt that’s on “The List”

20160116-130331.jpgand these two soaps wrapped in Liberty paper, which are beautifully scented (thanks Emma)

On the way out of the shop we bumped into Judy and some Instagram friends and more chatter ensued. Judy let me know that she’s going to be running her very own Block of the Month! If you’d like more information or want to sign up, please contact Judy here

Just something else to tempt you with!

So all in all, it was a wonderful, inspiring, relaxing, productive few days away.
