Post Christmas

How was your Christmas? Do hope you enjoyed the occasion and the festivities.

We had hot weather, so cold meat and salads seemed the most appropriate, rather than hot up the kitchen with roast meats and veggies.

Dad’s presence was sorely missed (it was one of his favourite times of the year) and we were all a bit raw to indulge in reminiscences, but our beautiful Poppet saved the day from becoming too maudlin. She enjoyed cuddles with her Nanna while we admired her new shoes

Nanna also did well with her present of a little golf set, The Golfer only too happy to help Poppet with her swing

Poppet and her parents left early afternoon to visit the other side of their family, and we lazed for the rest of the day, grazing for dinner, nice and relaxed.

As I headed off to bed, the sky was aglow with a full moon – apparently that hasn’t happened on Christmas Day for many a year.

Sounds like a better than perfect day, what a blessing the babies are. Christmas with our two daughters and their families were wonderful, our “Poppets” are 15 and 21 and are the light of our life. Now home, unpacked and ready to see what the New Year brings us… for me that would have to be fabric and adequate stitching time. I want to thank you, Meredith, for all of the inspiring posts this past year and I look forward to seeing what you girls come up with in 2016.

Sounds a wonderful day with a little poppet to brighten it more, we had a lovely day with our children and grandchildren. A very happy New Year to you and the Golfer, look forward to seeing you in the New Year.

  3. A lovely day, indeed. I’m sure Poppet will soon be following The Golfer around a course..

Little ones seem to make the day special.

  5. Poppet is the prettiest, cutest little girl, and I love her new shoes!! I have to admit that I was too lazy to go out to take photos of the full moon!!

Oh little Poppet has grown so much! There’s nothing like a child at Christmas to brighten things up. Looks like you had a wonderful Christmas. Happy New Year Sweet Meredithe!

    Great achievement

Glad you had a lovely day. Know exactly what you mean – first year without Mum (even though she’s been “missing” for the last few years) was difficult. Hang in there – know you’re being thought if x

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
