Template class

I had the pleasure of teaching my Template Workshop at Sewn and Quilted to ten very enthusiastic quilters on Saturday. I begged and borrowed quilts and blocks from Mrs Mac and Helen, and together with my own quilts and blocks we had quite a display

20150531-104624.jpgAfter going through the basics, the students chose their template set, selected fabrics, and set to cutting out. We had a bit of fun playing with a Sue Daley mirror

20150531-105047.jpgseeing the different effects we could get from fabrics with the templates.

While the students were busy cutting, a gentleman, Alex, came into the shop and showed us his latest quilt

20150531-105454.jpgBy lunch, or soon after, all the blocks were cut out, laid out, and hand piecing lessons begun. Take a look at these…..

20150531-115713.jpgand with humble apologies to Theresa – I forgot to take a pic of her block! So sorry, Theresa.

There was even time for a little tin envy with this battered beauty of Pauline’s

20150531-115821.jpgBy the time we’d finished for the day, stitching was well underway and the girls had plans for quilts and some for even more template sets! ‘Twas a very satisfying day, in the lovely atmosphere of Sewn and Quilted.
