Class show and tell

Wednesday

Before I became their teacher, the Wednesday students had a “long class” once a month staying until 2.00pm and enjoyed lunch together. Last week we decided to reinstate this event, so this week with the extra time, lots was achieved, as you’ll see!

Carole has gone a little berserk with her “Green Tea”!

20150514-154959.jpgshe’s accomplished all this in a week. Only slightly obsessed!

Sue 3 meantime is on the home stretch and she spent class cutting backgrounds for her appliqué pieces for “Green Tea”

20150514-155120.jpgLois had her quilt top together and sewed the side borders in class

20150514-155202.jpgTogether we chose and cut borders for the top and bottom – hope to show you the finished top soon.

Ellen had fun with hexagons

20150514-155303.jpgAnne Marie learnt how to do Colonial Knots and now Santa

20150514-155350.jpgand the birds have eyes!

20150514-155420.jpgThe other Anne Maree is seeing a light at the end of the tunnel with her hand quilting

20150514-155522.jpgTogether Deirdre and I worked out a pattern for Baptiste Fan and she started quilting it with her machine

    Hi Meredithe,

Carylin’s little blocks with the rounded petals – in the second picture from the bottom in your latest post. Do these have a name? I love the shape of the block and would love to have a go at them with some old liberty fabrics that i have from years ago.

Love your posts – you are all so productive and give us so much inspiration. Just finished my message in a bottle and now working on Irene’s Melon, Lime & Bitters.

    Thanks, anne

    Sent from my iPad

Love, love all the beautiful blocks. Boy, do I wish I lived closer and was moving into fall rather than spring up here in NW USA. Not my favorite sewing season. So much nicer to think quilts with cooler temps and fall colors! Enjoy for me!

  7. I’m exhausted looking at all the loveliness!!
