Saturday’s sewing day was at Maree’s and we had a great turn out of Squealers – eight of us in all. We all bring something to share for afternoon tea.

20150405-160614.jpgOrganised people bring home made chocolate chip biscuits and home made scones with home made jam, and those of us less organised (me!) bring Easter eggs!

Melbourne does Autumn spectacularly well, and Saturday was no exception.

20150405-160947.jpgWe had a sneak peek at Maree’s design wall

20150405-161024.jpgand a look around her sewing space

20150405-161316.jpgCathie had some lovely fabrics for a baby quilt

  1. Some gorgeous work there. Looks like lots of fun.

So many interesting projects. The circle block with the little triangles is very unusual. I love those embroidered baskets, too. I’m excited to see what all of your cutting is for? Lastly, I appreciated seeing the autumn colored leaves on the trees. My state (CA) is having a drought and our governor says it’s time for mandated water reductions. Today the news said a light rain shower is expected tomorrow morning with heavier rain in the afternoon. This won’t alleviate the drought but it will be a nice change and probably the last rain we’ll see until next winter.

    Was the BEST day M!!!!

I love watching the colors change both for quilters who have autumn days approaching and for those where spring is starting to bloom. And your new blocks are colorful no matter what hemisphere you’re living in.

  5. what quilt is Helen making – I love floral applique- Carol from Florida

The ‘get together’ looked fantabulous, I am having a get together tomorrow morning but just one which will be lovely and we’ll chatter non stop about the projects in hand and on the boil, I too am the ‘bought’ something for morning tea type, oh well all about the company after all, thanks for the view, very enjoyable, go girls.
