Summer Sewjourn – part 2

Saturday dawned bright, clear and warm; such a change from Friday night. I can’t believe how big the cacti have grown

20150215-092331.jpgAnd what’s this I espy?

20150215-092422.jpgTrees can’t be changing colour already?? It’s still, technically, Summer!

There are gorgeous shops to explore in the township, so explore we did……..

20150215-092610.jpgall bringing back a little (or lots of) something……

20150215-092703.jpg(again I was very restrained……..halo is about to choke me!)

For a couple of friends who hadn’t seen each other in a while there was a little present exchange

20150215-093013.jpgThen it was onto why we’re really here………

Carolyn is making one of Judy’s quilts

20150215-093303.jpgAmanda is MSG-ing

20150215-093455.jpgMaree turned this

From the packs GJ bought at Mary’s on Friday, she made these blocks

20150215-094407.jpgwhich rapidly turned into

20150215-094602.jpgAs is our way, lunch was a feast!

20150215-094812.jpgcomplete with a Valentine’s Day flower chocolate each, courtesy of GJ. (Somehow the truck with the flowers and presents from our husbands didn’t make it to Sewjourn!)

As the day worn on, the ironing board ended up doing double duty

20150215-095239.jpgalong with Heather’s sewing basket!

20150215-100017.jpgAnd because it’s the 15th of the month, thus Aunt’s Day, I stitched my little socks off to get the remaining six of my pieced blocks made yesterday, churning them out one after the other

20150215-100240.jpgSo here’s the twelve

20150215-100343.jpgand I’ve prepped two more appliqué blocks

20150215-100741.jpg

20150215-100903.jpgHope that pleases Auntie Anna!

All in all, an extremely productive day yesterday. And looking around the studio this morning, today promises to be one too!

Even more tomorrow!

Much love

Just a question. When you prep for back basting, what do you use to mark the stitching line on the right side of the fabric?
