I’ve been a tad concerned about our Claret Ash. It’s been very late in coming into leaf this Spring, and I did wonder at one stage if it had died. But in the last few weeks – finally – new leaves have appeared; that glorious, wonderful Spring-new-leaf green, one of my favourite colours, that looks so fabulous against a blue Spring sky!
Some of the branches, as you can see, are still not in leaf; we may have to call in an arborist yet. I do wonder if the late leafing means something in terms of the type of Summer we’re in for? If the last couple of days are something to go by, we could be in for a very hot Summer.
