It’s been a very special week. After nearly two years of planning, a very special visit has taken place. Our gorgeous friend Anne is over from the Scottish Borders and we commandeered her for five days of sewing, shopping, fun and food at Sewjourn!
We left Monday morning and travelled up to Sewjourn via Patch n Quilt
It was a spectacular day, so after unpacking, filling the fridge
and the fruit bowl
we all enjoyed a cuppa outside in the glorious sunshine
admiring the view
and the surroundings
This butterfly kindly posed for the camera
Then it was time to inspect our shopping show and tell
and check out what we’d brought along to sew. I had several bags, as is my wont
(well, a girl needs some choices!!) and Anne was very economical!
Back at the house, a celebration was in order
with a toast to our long awaited retreat
Anne surprised us with a special gift each. GJ and Jan couldn’t make it for the week, so if you’re reading girls, look away now!!
and inside the tin?
No, they’re not lollies, or sweeties, as Anne would say
but beautiful hand made trinkets
and I also received a much coveted Kate Davies Designs bag!!
(If you haven’t discovered Kate’s blog yet, I highly recommend an explore around this remarkable young woman’s pages, particularly her life story.)
Too soon the day had come to an end, but the sun was still shining as we dawdled home from dinner at the pub
To quote Miss Helen, it was “heaven on a stick”!!
