Sunday at Sewjourn

Brrrr, it was cold!! Sunshine first thing, but as I collected essential sewing supplies for a day in the studio

20140810-181235.jpgit started to rain

20140810-181310.jpgHalf an hour later the sun was out again

20140810-181337.jpgand it continued to alternate rain and sunshine all day, including at one stage, a rainbow!

20140810-181429.jpgHelen put up her “Sunburst” blocks – with a spare – and we decided that it does need to be 4 x 4, so she’s going to make another three blocks

20140810-182018.jpgHelen then put up her “Carpenter’s Wheel”

20140810-182126.jpgplaying with corners and borders

20140810-182205.jpgand by day’s end, it was done, except for the appliquéd corners!!!

20140810-182303.jpgKaye had laid out her appliqué on Saturday

20140810-182356.jpgthen prepped hexagons on Sunday

20140810-182444.jpgThis girl is soooooo organised!

20140810-182528.jpgMrs Mac put borders on this quilt

20140810-182630.jpgand this quilt

20140810-182730.jpgLynette played with these fabrics

20140810-182817.jpg(can’t show you with what until November!!)

I’d done this much on Saturday

20140810-182922.jpgand finished it

20140810-182958.jpgand the second one for my Woolly Bits Block Book.

20140810-183103.jpgWe did interrupt our stitching for some home made lunch – Yum!!

20140810-183210.jpgAnd I nearly forgot to show you Lynette’s prize buy of the weekend! Check out this 1960’s sewing basket!

20140810-183333.jpgand the inside – such good nick!

20140810-183419.jpgand yes, it is velvet on top!
