It was cold, but we had sunshine………for a little while anyway!
After a leisurely brekky we headed off for a short road trip to Patch n Quilt
Mary’s chirpiness was in full flight, and she had a surprise assistant in the form of GJ!! We spent a wonderful time, perusing, exclaiming, deciding, and finally buying!
I bought this little lot
Lynette bought a variety of perle threads to start hand quilting
and some Liberty prints, soon to be “Dear Jane’d”!
Mrs Mac indulged her passion for pink and purple
Helen was very taken with this range and bought a background for a “something” too
and Kaye bought the red to go with these fabrics
Back at the ranch……..a quick lunch, then over to the studio………
All afternoon there was the whirr of machines, the swoosh of hand quilting, the hum of the heater, the buzzing of thinking (ok, you couldn’t hear that, but you could see cogs wheeling as processes and decisions were thought through!), and lots of chat and laughter!
I gave Lynette a hand quilting lesson; these are her first two stitched!
and soon after
one down and…….no, Lynette’s decided she’s not counting how many there are to do!!
Mrs Mac machine quilted
and put the binding on this little quilt
By then it was too dark to take good pics of the other work – will remedy that today!
Dinner time and an evening in the house called. But first
a little pre-dinner aperitif
And for those who don’t like champagne….
The rest of the evening unfolded in front of the fire, with hand stitching, nibbles, and “Salmon Fishing in Yemen”. More Bliss!!
