Saturday stitching

Miss Kaye has been over to Adelaide for Quilt Encounter and had a great time. On the journey she scored this unusually shaped sewing basket

20140728-122623.jpgUnder Caroline Sharkey’s tuition, Kaye made this fabulous quilt from the picture on the left

20140728-122809.jpgSo clever!

And she started another appliqué project with Katrina Hadjimichael

20140728-123042.jpgand she’s also playing with some very tiny hexagons!

20140728-123120.jpgHelen was thrilled to receive a parcel in the post this week, containing stencils from The Stencil Company and she can now do more hand quilting!

20140728-123330.jpgMrs Mac is playing with my Carpenter’s Wheel templates

20140728-123432.jpgLove these fabrics!

And most exciting of all……..a little while ago, Mrs Mac expressed a fancy to remake the sampler she made in class with me (where we first met!), but by machine instead of hand. So I used my EQ and converted as many blocks as possible to machine piecing and gave her the cutting measurements, and along with the class notes, Mrs Mac has made this utterly gorgeous sampler

20140728-123858.jpgusing a different centre, some orphan blocks that needed sashing to fit and fabulous fabrics, it’s just a delight!

How satisfying!

What a gorgeous heart basket, the inside is the prettiest shade of pink. I love how varied all the different blocks and applique projects are in your Saturday stitches group.
