Feed the birds…..

The Kettles are here!! It’s so lovely having them staying with us. We’ve had some cuddles with Poppet (have I told you how beautiful she is yet??!!), and today we had a day out, driving down to Point Lonsdale. Pa Kettle’s parents and one sibling are buried at the cemetery there and new plaques have been erected, so we went to check all was in order. It’s a quiet place, as cemeteries tend to be, with a view across trees, out to the sea for contemplation. We spent a little time remembering and the Kettles reiterated their last wishes (sensible, if confronting), then slowly ambled our way back to the car.

A short drive later we were in Queenscliff and sought out The Courtyard Cafe where we joined some sparrows

20140528-171705.jpgbut we didn’t let them join in our lunch!

20140528-171854.jpgIt was a leisurely meal, chatting and laughing, and watching as the sky changed hues and went through four season in a couple of hours!

A lovely day. And I did enjoy those cheeky sparrows!

You’ve got me singing ” .. Tuppence a bag..”. It looks like a wonderful day in Queenscliff. Sparrows are little sweeties, and good inspiration for bird applique.

Ahhh, looks like you had the perfect day out. There’s nothing better than spending time with family.

  6. Your sparrows look exactly like our sparrows!! Have a wonderful time with your family.

  7. Looks gorgeous, and I’d suspect it might be the last of the sunshine before winter truly sharpens it claws. And, what, didn’t you see Phryne dashing about in her Hispano Suiza?? No, I’m sure you’d have mentioned that. 🙂

How beautiful ! Amazing that you have Sparrows too 😊. We have a lot that visit our yard for a drink and splash in the bird bath.

Sounds like you had a beautiful day! The sparrows are lovely to look at. I love watching the birds come to the garden and visit with us.

  10. People have mentioned that the sparrows are now being sighted here in the UK. Must be a sign of summer.

Thank you for taking the time to comment - reading them makes my day!
