Sewjourn Stitching – part 1

I have sooooo much to tell you!! I’ve been away for the weekend to the temper-mollifying, stress-assuaging, ever-so-relaxing Sewjourn. It’s taken me hours to sort through the photos, make collages, and this could be a post of many parts. Are you ready??!! Deep breath!

We traipsed up the highway, stopping first at Mary’s exciting new location; so much bigger, so much brighter, large classroom, easy parking……what’s not to love??!!

20140218-142626.jpglots and lots of fabulous goodies, captivating new fabrics, and, of course, Mary’s effervescent company!!

20140218-143021.jpgThis wonderfully astute business woman carries my templates!

20140218-143108.jpgand had a great new quilt from the “Airplanes” set

20140218-143149.jpgThe perfect boy’s quilt!

Several hours later, we walked through various arcades (all looking very interesting) to my favourite cafe, So Latte, for lunch

20140218-143329.jpga little browse in a shop next door, where some serious shoe and bag purchases were made (forgot a photo!!), then on the road again, final destination Sewjourn. (Shoes and bag not purchased by me, or GJ…….for a change!!)

We had been a little concerned that the weekend might have to be cancelled as bush fires were a bit too close the previous weekend. But all was ok, even if the air was heavily tainted with residual smoke

It was lovely to be able to show off this venue to my fellow Sewjourners ( I was the only one who had previously been there ), and then it was time for a cuppa and the obligatory show and tell of our purchases!!

20140218-143828.jpgso many gorgeous acquisitions!!

Back with more tomorrow!

I love the concept of a sewjourn. I might have to get some of my Quilty Buddies to come up with a Colorado version.
