Another Dashing Hues

Yesterday I received an email from my Cousin J, who, like me, spent the weekend sewing machine bound (in fact Mr P became quite concerned with Cousin J’s obsessiveness – we’re not surprised, are we??!!).

Look what my very clever Cousin J has made!!

20140211-084434.jpgThis is her version of my Dashing Hues pattern. Cousin J couldn’t face putting the blocks together as is (too messy for her!), so she’s sashed them together and it looks FabUlous!

20140211-084836.jpgCousin J challenged herself to go outside her comfort zone colour wise, and I love the fabrics she’s used and the combinations she’s put together. In fact, in her email she said, “I don’t think I’m afraid of colour anymore!” And how wonderful is that!! Cousin J has decided to make another row of blocks, then it will be large enough to go onto a single bed.

So proud of you J!

Always is wonderful to see how a very traditional block can be fresh and almost new again!!!! Color remains a challenge factor for so many! Glad “Cousin J” has faced down her fear!!!! LOL!

  3. Well done Cousin J! Her colours are super and I like the way she has sashed them. Snowing here this morning!!!!!
